COVID-19 Update

As Los Angeles begins to re-open, SkinSafe Dermatology and Skin Care is now offering in-office medical visits for both urgent and non-urgent skin care issues.

Telemedicine ‘virtual’ visits are still available for some types of visits, including follow up visits, and/or if you currently have or have been exposed to COVID-19. Some non-urgent conditions that may be evaluated via Telemedicine include:

·         Some new rashes or rash follow up visits

·         New and follow up acne patients

·         Accutane follow up visits

·         Some types of new spots

·         Prescription renewals

·         Skin Care guidance

Which skin conditions might possibly require an in-person visit?

·         Blistering skin rashes

·         New, acute, widespread rashes

·         Painful, inflamed/infected cysts or abscesses

·         Concern for worsening/spreading skin infection

·         New, rapidly-arising growths

·         Changing or new moles

·         Persistent bleeding, scaly or non-healing spots or sores

Please help me best keep you safe. If you are currently experiencing new fevers, cough, shortness of breath, body aches, sore throat, loss of smell/taste, diarrhea/vomitting, or if you have been exposed to anyone with these symptoms in the last 14 days, please stay home or re-schedule your in-office appointment for a virtual one. If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or been directly exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please stay home or re-schedule your in-office appointment for a virtual one. Staying home is the first tenet of staying safe.

Our telemedicine platform allows me to continue to care for many skin conditions and even send prescriptions while you stay home (and yes, it’s ok if you teleconference from your couch or even in your pajamas!). As always, patient safety comes first. Our photo-sharing and video-conferencing platform is HIPAA compliant and simple to use (Just click the link sent to your cell phone at the time of your scheduled visit. No need to download any Apps or signup for a portal or website). A fee may be collected prior to the appointment, if we are not in-network with your insurance plan, if your insurance plan does not cover telemedicine visits, or to pay your visit copay. A superbill can be provided if you need to submit it to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
